Everything you need to know for the perfect holiday

Check out the answers to our most commonly asked questions below
How far is it to the lake?

The lake is a 3-5 min walk from all of our units.

Can we hike on your property?

Yes, we have great trails for leisurely strolls and longer hikes. You can even embark on a 12 km hike to Camel’s Hump right from our property. There is also amazing hiking in the Monashee Mountains for the more ambitious hiker!

Do you offer any activities at your resort?

Since we are a small, family run business, it depends a little bit on when you are coming, but if we can fit it in, we are happy to arrange for a cheese making and milking class, herbal medicine making , bread baking or Kombucha.

Please ask before your stay so that we can plan accordingly!

Can we swim in the lake?

Our unique, natural lake is wonderful for swimming, you can access it from one of 2 floating docks and off you go. There is no beach, but enough space for sunbathing on the docks.

Since our small lake is deep, we provide life vests for our guests, including for children.

Are there fish in the lake?

We stock our lake with Rainbow trout on a regular basis.

Can we have a camp fire?

Each unit has a cozy wood stove for those chilly nights and the BBQ for your dinner, but we don’t allow open fires due to the fact that we are out of fire protection.

How do I reserve and pay for the kayaks?

Our kayaks, canoe and paddle board are free for you to use on our lake.

How is the road to your place? Can I come with a regular car?

We are 3.5 km off the Highway on a well maintained gravel road. It can be driven by any car or motorbike.

How far are you from the next grocery store?

The nearest community is Lumby, a 15 min drive away. There are grocery stores, a butcher, hardware store, pharmacy, dentist and several restaurants. You can even visit the village art gallery, the local Coop or the spray park for children!

It says you are on Solar power, what does that mean for my stay?

We are proud to be entirely off grid, all of our units are equipped with solar panels, batteries and back up generators for your convenience. Most of the year the solar panels provide enough electricity for all of your needs and batteries store it for cloudy days. We only ask you to check in with us if you are bringing any high powered devices, such as rice cookers, coffee makers, fans, heaters or AC since those might overpower the system. All regular electronic devices are fine to use!

Is there a BBQ and do we need to bring propane?

Each of our accommodations has a BBQ and propane.

Do I need to bring dishes, pots and pans?

Our kitchens are fully stocked with everything you might need. If you have any special request, just let us know before you come and we will try to organize it for you!

Can we bring our dog or cat?

We have to say No to pets since we have livestock guardian dogs at large to protect our small herd of goats, and they will get too distracted with other dogs around. Lumby has several pet boarding places with raving reviews! We are happy to make arrangements for you.
